N.E.W. 200 Foundation Fun Run 2008 |

Jefferson Preschool families and staff supported the N.E.W. 200 Foundation Fun Run on September 20, 2008. The N.E.W. 200 Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to funding new programs and rewarding initiative on the part of teachers and students. The Foundation works in collaboration with District 200 but is independent from it. The foundation is operated by a volunteer group of parents.
There were a record number of runners this year and District 200 schools. raised the highest amount ever for $1000 grant to the elementary school and middle school with the highest percentage of participants (runners and volunteers). This year's winners were: Madison Elementary School - 26.38% Edison Middle School - 22.59% The results for the elementary schools were very close, with Longfellow and Jefferson only a few participants behind Madison. In fact it was so close that the New 200 Foundation has decided to award addtional grants of $500 each to Longfellow and Jefferson, recognizing their excellent participation in this event.
