"Early Spring" and "Late Spring" at the Pond, by Miss Jenny's Class

Miss Jenny and Miss Lisa
took us to see a
pond that is
close to our school!
We saw the pond early in the spring
and then we went back and
saw the pond in the late spring.

Early in the spring everything
looked brown and dry. We saw dried up cattails and pinecones. It was chilly so we wore our jackets. Not much activity was happening at the pond and it was very quiet.
In the late spring, the pond
"came alive"! The air was warm and plants were green! There was much
more activity and we even saw some duck and goose foot prints!

We found a lot of "lily pads"
floating in the pond. We were sure there must have been a lot of frogs swimming around although we weren't lucky
enough to see any. We did get to see some ducks and blue heron! We found a birds nest and some butterflies.
