	Help your child get a jump-start on school by enrolling in District 200’s Jefferson Preschool. We have earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children- the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. Jefferson has met or exceeded NAEYC's standards for a high quality educational program. A certified teacher and classroom aide will help your child develop the skills needed for a successful kindergarten experience. Teachers will use a developmentally appropriate curriculum that focuses on language, socialization, motor and pre-academic skill development. A typical preschool day includes the arrival routine, music and movement, calendar activities, story time, structured gym activities, interest centers, snack time, art and departure routines. Library time, cooking activities and field trips are also included in the preschool program. Classes will be primarily comprised for typically developing three and four year olds, while including some children with special needs. Children will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for Fall 2008 to begin December 17, 2007! Preschool Hours The preschool operates morning and afternoon sessions following District 200 calendar with classes on Tuesday through Friday. Morning Session 9:15 a.m.- 11:45 a.m. Afternoon Session 1:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Download a District 200 Calendar Age Requirements Children must be at least three years old by September 1st to enroll for the fall session. Children MUST be toilet trained to be accepted into the program! Transportation Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from school. Tuition A monthly program fee is charged. There is no reduction in fees due to illness, absence, or days school is not in session. Fees are due on the first Tuesday of each month. The fee for the 2008-2009 school year is $225.00 per month. Registration Community registration to begin December 17, 2007 Registration is accepted until classes are full. Download Application for 2008-2009 Visit the preschool office at Jefferson School, 130 N. Hazelton, Wheaton, or call 682-2474 to inquire about registration. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Applications will not be processed until the registration is complete.
