Help your child get a jump-start on school by enrolling in District 200’s Jefferson Preschool. We have earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children- the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals. Jefferson has met or exceeded NAEYC's standards for a high quality educational program. A certified teacher and classroom aide will help your child develop the skills needed for a successful kindergarten experience. Teachers will use a developmentally appropriate curriculum that focuses on language, socialization, motor and pre-academic skill development. A typical preschool day includes the arrival routine, music and movement, calendar activities, story time, structured gym activities, interest centers, snack time, art and departure routines. Library time, cooking activities and field trips are also included in the preschool program. Classes will be primarily comprised for typically developing three and four year olds, while including some children with special needs. Children will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
